There are many things that can go wrong within the engine block, so it is usually tested to determine whether the engine cylinder or heads have a leak.
You would want to test the pressure, once the pressure is tested you should be able to notice a leak and hopefully diagnose the problem within the car part. Once you are pressure testing the engine the leaking may come from a different place such as a hose or the radiator. In that case it would be a relatively easier problem to fix.

The crankshaft has many parts and passageways such as the Flywheel Flange, Oil passageways, main bearing journals, counterweights, and a pulley. Which all the parts have their own unique design and function.
Piston is a cylindrical plug which is used for moving up and down the cylinder according to the position of the crankshaft in its rotation. A piston is the car part that will harness the power from that rotation. The piston is a plunger like component of a car engine a typical piston has a four-stroke internal combustion. The first step of the cycle is the intake stroke in this process the piston is pulled down and creates a vacuum. The vacuum occurs within the valve which pulls air and fuel down into the cylinder.
The next step is the compression stroke this is where the piston is forced back up the valve compressing the air and fuel very rapidly this sudden increase in pressure heats up the air and fuel mixture making it more volatile. Spark plugs light the gas on fire creating an explosion in the cylinder leading into the power stroke. The power stroke converts the explosive energy to mechanical energy forcing the piston back down turns the crankshaft and propels the car forward. Lastly the exhaust stroke forces the piston back upward and expels the leftover gas through the exhaust valve then the whole cycle repeats. Piston comprises of several components namely: Piston Pins, Piston Floor Mat, Piston Valve.
Camshaft is to control the opening and closing of valves at proper timing. The camshaft has teardrop shaped pieces that control the vales when the camshaft is in motion. The camshaft is what controls the stage and position the pistons are in which piston is supplied with fuel, or air at the right time, also which piston is exhausting or compressing at the right time.
The crankshaft is connected usually by a timing belt or chain. It is particularly important to time your engine correctly because if the engine is not times correctly it can lead to problems with the engine working properly and the valves operating at the wrong times. Camshaft is placed at the top or at the bottom of the cylinder.
Valves are used to control the inlet and exhaust of internal combustion engine. Two Valves are used for each cylinder and other for exhaust of combustion gases. The valves allow air and gas to be released into the cylinder. The exhaust valves open to let the burned air and gas out of the cylinder and into the exhaust. Valves are operated by the Camshafts the camshafts turn with the engine and the valves are then moved.
Variable valve timing is also a particularly important part of valves which is comprised of valve timing, valve duration and valve lift all are considered when the mechanical engineers are manufacturing the engines and do what they believe to be best so that the engine can operate well. Valve timing are the points in the engines rotation the valves open and close, valve duration is how long the valve stay open once it is opened, and valve lift is how far a valve moves off its seat when it opens.
It connects piston to the crank shaft and transmit the motion and thrust of piston to crankshaft. The lower end of connecting rod is connected to the piston and bigger is connected to the crankshaft. A connecting rod is the part of a piston engine which connects the piston to the crankshaft. Together with the crank, the connecting rod converts the reciprocating motion of the piston into the rotation of the crankshaft.
The connecting rod is required to transmit the compressive and tensile forces from the piston. In the simplest way I can say it connecting rods have to make sure the pistons are moving up and down when the crankshaft tells them to.
This device is used in petrol engine only and ignite the charge of fuel for combustion. It is responsible for igniting the air & fuel mixture in the engine and it is part of the combustion process. In order for the vehicle to move the engine has to produce horsepower which is a unit power equal to 550 foot-pounds per second. To create this power, it needs to create combustion within the cylinder head.
To create combustion, you will need a spark hence the name spark plugs. Once the cylinder head is filled with air and fuel the spark plug provides the spark to create the combustion. The way the spark plug creates the spark is through electricity. The spark plugs are connected to spark plug wires the spark plug wires are connected to a coil. The coil sends electrical power through the spark plug wires to the spark plugs.
